Ever had veggies in a smoothie? Give it a try! You'll be shocked at how tasty it is and you'll be loading on vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Cucumbers, kale,
broccoli, spinach, avocados, carrots and beets make great veggies for smoothies. Add a fruit or two. Apples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, raspberries, mango, melon and grapefruit will add sweetness and flavor.
Since you're already being adventurous... try using an alternative to dairy yogurt. Substitute a cup of hemp milk, almond milk, coconut milk or coconut milk yogurt. Avoid adding any sugary juices, the fruit will add enough sugar. Instead add coconut water, unsweetened pomegranate juice or fresh lime juice.
For additional nutrition add
hemp seeds, chia seeds or flax seeds (rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and protein).
Mix and match different fruits and veggies, until you find your favorite combos! Smoothies are a delicious way to get your fill of fruits and veggies.
You can eat them for breakfast, lunch or for a snack. They are quick,
easy and refreshing for summer!
