FOODS? Anything from the local Farmer's Market that my husband
grills while I enjoy a nice glass of wine. Perfection! My current favorite is
beets, but I'm excited to grill peaches soon!

MEET NICOLE SMITH
HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY ON A BUSY
SCHEDULE? In addition to health coaching I do have a regular
full-time sales job, so staying active, eating right and finding some quiet
time every day is key. I try and start my day with a workout (running or yoga
usually) becasue I'm more likely to actually do it if it's the first thing I
do. I almost always bring a lunch to work. It's important that I stay on track
all day long, and if I have a lunch already with me I don't have those mid-day
crashes from eating unhealthy. Each day when I come home, I take my pup for a
walk. It's a great way to unwind from my crazy schedule, and help her burn off
some energy as well.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SMOOTHIE? 2 c Brewed tea, 1/2 c coconut water, some fresh or frozen
berries, spinach or kale, 2 T raw cacao powder, goji berries, 1 T each raw
honey, coconut oil and almond butter. Blend, strain and enjoy!
HOW DO YOU DE-STRESS? By going for a run, long walk/hike or yoga. Usually the more I
sweat, the clearer my head and better I feel.

MEET ERIN ELBERSON
HOW DO YOU STAY ACTIVE? I am a road cyclist and ride 8-13 hours a week. I also do
strength train and flexibility train at least once a week. I use a stand up
desk and telephone headset for work, and our dog keeps me busy and she always
is ready for a walk!
WHAT ARE
YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER FOODS? Fruits of all kinds! Lots
of salads, the occasional sangria, and a purely elizabeth chocolate chip cookie
(or 3) after a long ride.
WHAT FOODS COULD YOU NEVER GIVE UP? Dark chocolate in some form.

MEET ELIZABETH LEPPART
WHAT FOODS ARE IN YOUR GROCERY CART? Always fresh or frozen organic fruits and veggies for
snacking and green smoothies, non-dairy milk, oatmeal or low-sugar cereal, dark
chocolate : )
HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY ON A BUSY
SCHEDULE? Let me count the ways! Make time for a hearty,
healthy breakfast. Snack on fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc. If no time
to work out, stretch in the morning, evening and throughout the day. Make
healthy meals in bulk to freeze and use throughout the week. Always drink
water! The list goes on and on...
WHAT ARE
YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER FOODS? Summer is my favorite
time of the year, largely due to the fresh foods in-season! I simply love
picking fresh fruit and vegetables from my graden or walking to the local
farmers markets. For meals, you can't beat backyard BBQ's and picnics in the
park. And there's nothing more refreshing than a big glass of fresh
fruit-infused water
MEET PAULA ANTONINI
HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY ON A BUSY
SCHEDULE? Preparation is the deal breaker. As long as I plan
ahead and have only healthy foods in the house, it's easy. I make pots of soup,
for example, and divide it into meal-sized portions and freeze it. There's
always something already prepared that I can take out of the freezer for
dinner. I also have lots of green smoothies.
WHAT FOODS ARE IN YOUR GROCERY CART? Dark, leafy greens, avocados, goat yogurt, quinoa, chia,
raw cheese, organic corn chips, dark chocolate, and- of course- purely elizabeth granola!
WHAT ARE
YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER FOODS? South Carolina
peaches and Tennessee tomatoes
FB: Simply Nutrition, Paula Antonini
MEET SEELEY GUTIERREZ
WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY ON LIVING
PURELY? To me, living purely is keeping things simple, whether
it's with food, exercise, or emotionally. The best food is the one with the
least ingredients, the one that's closest to its pure form. The best types of
exercises are the ones that your body naturally wants to do; you don't need to
make complicated training schedules or routines in order to be fit.
Emotionally, avoiding drama and living an authentic life, however you see that,
is pure.
WHAT FOODS ARE IN YOUR GROCERY CART? Bananas, sweet potatoes, and spinach are mainstays. If the
husband is shopping with me, Nutella and Virgil's root beer will also be
present.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HEALTH AND
WELLNESS BOOKS? I'm not big into books on
health and wellness as I tend to follow blogs more. I do like the
"Thrive" series. For blogs, 101 Cookbooks, Elana's Pantry, and Goop
are where I get some of my cooking and wellness inspirations.
MEET ELIZABETH HULL
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SMOOTHIE? I use Arbonne protein powder shakes to get enough protein
(they're vegan so I don't have to worry about where the protein came from) so
sometimes I add frozen blueberries and bananas to the chocolate shake with a
sprinkle of cinnamon and maybe a spoonful of almond butter. Yum!!
HOW DO YOU STAY ACTIVE? I chase twin toddlers around the house!! They are a very good
form of exercise.
WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION? My motivation to live purely is to maintain my health so I have
the energy to keep up with my family and my passions. I love to help other
people - I'm not a nurse practitioner by accident. I see so many people, mostly
women, whose lives are so stressful and unhealthy that they have terrible pain
and fatigue. They come in seeking pain medication when what they really need is
to detox their life and take the time to take care of themselves. Some people
feel so hopeless they think this is impossible. I know it's not because I've
been there. I want to help other people to see that it's not impossible to get
better without drugs.

MEET JULIA HANLON
HOW DO YOU STAY ACTIVE? Yoga, running, biking, swimming and walking.
WHAT FOODS COULD YOU NEVER GIVE UP? Avocados, raw cashews and my mother's hummus.

MEET DANI STURTZ
HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY ON A BUSY
SCHEDULE? I stay healthy on a busy schedule by
planning ahead. I try to cook a bunch of staple items like quinoa, brown rice
and green veggies that I can have for any meal! I also pack healthy snacks like
veggies, fruits and nuts so that if I need a pick me up I'm prepared.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SMOOTHIE? I don't know if I have a favorite
smoothie, but I'm really digging Juice Generation's Peanut Butter Split. It is
all-natural peanut butter with omega-3s from flax oil blended with organic
almond milk, banana, and frozen coconut milk. It is delicious! If you haven't
tried it, go get one!
WHAT FOODS ARE IN YOUR GROCERY CART? My grocery cart consists mainly of
fruits and vegetables. I love green leafy vegetables like kale, swiss chard,
and spinach. I also love broccoli, cauliflower, and avocado. As far as fruit
goes I love most! Blueberries, apples, grapes, and cherries are just a few of
my favorites. In addition to fruits and vegetables, proteins are a must! I like
to stock up on tempeh, tofu, and beans (chickpeas, kidney beans, and black
beans are my go to's). And no grocery cart would be complete without something
sweet! I enjoy endangered species dark chocolate bars or purely decadent's
choc. chip cookie dough coconut ice cream.

MEET CYDNEY SMITH
WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION? My motivation comes from wanting to have the energy and clarity to live a life that I love and enjoy. I want to be healthy enough to live out my dreams and bring my gifts to the world. I have two children and I want them to be healthy and strong so they can do the same.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER FOODS? I just made a huge bowl of gazpacho. No cooking and it keeps well. I love having it in the summer. It's so easy to make and there are so many ways to add variety - I switch up the herbs between basil, dill and mint. You can add almost any fresh summer vegetable to it. I prefer to chop all the veggies by hand. I find it very meditative and relaxing. I love having a counter full of produce go to good use!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SMOOTHIE? Lately, I have been in to green juice. I have a Champion Juicer I bought over 15 years ago that runs like a charm. My favorite combo: 1 cucumber, 2-3 stalks of celery, a big handful or 2 of Kale (about a small bunch), 3-4 leaves of Romaine lettuce, a small chunk of ginger (about an inch), 1/2 a bunch of parsley, 1 lemon, and any other greens or veggies I may have on hand. Sometimes I will add spinach, beet greens, dandelion, sprouts, collards, or even a handful of leftover salad! This usually makes about a quart of juice. I pour half into a tall glass and the rest into a canning jar. I fill it to the top to minimize any air pockets when I put the lid on. I save this in the fridge for a late afternoon snack. I always add some kind of booster to my juice. Some of my favorites: a powder probiotic, maca, spirulina, a few tablespoons of chia seed, or ground hemp or flax. I don't add a sweetener, but I will put an apple in there if I am craving more sweetness. Most days I shake the juice over ice. Refreshing and invigorating!

HOW DO YOU STAY ACTIVE? I work out at least once a day, sometimes up to 3 times.
Why? Because it's FUN and I'd rather go do that than sit and watch reality TV
at home! I've been working in small group training classes using TRX suspension
and kettlebells, and the results are really motivating, Same with barre
classes: awesome results in a unique and welcoming atmosphere!

MEET AMY ABELOFF
HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY ON A BUSY
SCHEDULE? I make working out top priority. My work schedule is
currently flexible enough to do so, but it still should come first no matter
how hectic things get. If you're motivated by losing weight or maintaining your
health, you'll find yourself happy to wake up early for a jog or a trip to the
gym. I also swear by exercise as THE ultimate way to de-stress.
WHAT ARE YOUR TRICKS FOR EATING
HEALTHY AT A RESTAURANT? Stay away from anything fried,
cream-based or oozing with cheese! If I see a salad with fruit, a vinaigrette,
and plain nuts with chicken or fish, I usually pick that comfortably. Also,
tell the waitress/waiter to hold the free bread or chips.
